Another Strategy? 50 Cent Files For Bankruptcy Chapter 11 After Rick Ross Baby Mother Wins $50 Million Lawsuit

The rapper 50 CentFILED FOR BANKRUPTCY protection on Monday, halting a dispute over a sex tape.

The 40-year-old rapper, Curtis James Jackson III, filed for chapter 11 protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Hartford, Conn., on Monday, the same day he was supposed to appear in aNEW York state court to determine whether he owes punitive damages in a 2010 lawsuit filed by Lastonia Leviston, rapper Rick Ross’s ex-girlfriend, court records show.

Jurors said last week that Mr. Jackson should pay $5 million to Ms. Leviston, who said that Mr. Jackson violated her privacy by posting a sex tape of her online. Mr. Jackson’s lawyers dispute the amount of the verdict.

The skeletal, five-page bankruptcy petition didn’t reference the lawsuit. Generally,FILING FOR BANKRUPTCYPROTECTION halts lawsuits and collection efforts.

“This filing for personal bankruptcy protection permits Mr. Jackson to continue his involvement with various business interests and continue his work as an entertainer, while he pursues an orderly reorganization of his financial affairs,” said William A. Brewer III, his lawyer, in a statement. Lawyers didn’t explain how he plans to use bankruptcy protection to get a fresh start.

Mr. Jackson estimates that his assets and debts, which were not itemized, are worth between $10 million and $50 million, courtPAPERS said.

The bankruptcy petition lists his address as a Farmington, Conn., mansion, which boxer Mike Tyson once owned. The 21-bedroom home is reported to have a racquetball court, a homeMOVIE THEATER and an eight-car garage.

50 Cent put his boxing promotion company, SMS Promotions LLC, into bankruptcy protection on May 26.  The maneuver was related to the 2010 sex tape lawsuit.

The lawsuit accused him of posting a 13-minute sex tape on his website in 2009 as part of a “rap war” between himself and Mr. Ross,ACCORDING to court papers.

“Rap wars or beefs are common in the rap and hip hop culture and involve irritating other artists to create more interest, develop more awareness for themselves and create competition, or battles, as to two can create material ‘up to standard’ quickly,” court papers said.

Mr. Jackson appeared on the music scene in 2003 with his gangsta rap anthem “In Da Club.” He has gone to release five commercial albums and has also acted in such films as the soon-to-hit-theaters “Southpaw.”

Dan Charnas, the author of The Big Payback: The History of the Business of Hip-Hop (2010), said Mr. Jackson came of age when music performers could still make millions of dollars from recordSALES and performance royalties. He later founded G-Unit Records, which helped propel other rappers, and made deals with Reebok and other fashion pursuits.

Mr. Jackson also invested in the maker of Glaceau Vitaminwater, which was sold to Coca-Cola for $4.1 billion in 2007. Industry insiders speculate that Mr. Jackson got between $40 million and $100 million from that deal, Mr. Charnas said.

Last week, theNEW York Times profiled Mr. Jackson, proclaiming that he “has exceptionalBUSINESS instincts.” But Mr. Charnas said the rapper’s popularity has since faded.

“I think what we see over and over again are rap artistsJOINING the great American tradition of being exploited, climbing out of that exploitation and being an entrepreneur and creating equity, the great American tradition of amassing wealth and the great American tradition of squandering it,” Mr. Charnas said.

Iggy Azalea Settles Out of Court With Ex-Boyfriend Over Sex Tape Lawsuit

via Dailymail

It has been a nasty blimp on her stellar rise to superstardom, but looks like the Australian rapper can finally put a tough chapter behind her.

Iggy Azalea and her much older ex Hefe Wine have put their relationship and legal battle behind them.

Court documents obtained by the DailyMail.com revealed the exes and their legal teams spent seven hours in a legal conference on Wednesday before they agreed to a settlement – details of which will remain behind closed doors.

According to the website Hefe – who claims he was married to the star common law when she just 17-years-old in 2008 – will be given only a small check put of the agreement.

Or, as a source told the website: ‘He couldn’t even get a HondaACCORD out of it.’

The cars retail for just over $22,000 in the US.

The small time music producer had wanted big bucks as documents exclusively obtained by the DailyMail.com last month revealed.

Not as bad: While details of the settlement are not being made public - unlike the Trouble star's dirty laundry - TMZ claims the monetary agreement is not as big as expected. She is seen here in May

The the documents, Hefe – whose real name is Maurice Williams – claimed his Iggy gave him an STI.

The producer claimed he was threatened by Iggy and needed a restraining order and also that her grossly negligent behavior included her knowing she had the STI and then purposefully and intentionally engaging in sexual relations with him

He was seeking damages for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish and medical treatment costs for what he says had to pay to treat his STI.

For over a year the pair have fired back at each other in the courts, after Iggy initially sued her ex claiming he was attempting to illegally release music she recorded years ago without her permission. She said he even stole the songs from her. She called him ‘a thief, a felon and a fugitive.’

Following the lawsuit initially filed by Iggy, Hefe filed for divorce in Texas court claiming they had a common law marriage. In court papers he said they ‘agreed to be married, holding themselves out as man and wife and began residing together in the State of Texas on or about September, 2008.’

Texas law states if any man and woman live together for a lengthy amount of time they are considered married.

Hefe demanded that the court order Iggy not sell off any assets she accumulated during their relationship and he wanted the judge to divide their property.

While the older man claimed the rapper had threatened him and he needed a restraining order, the Australian revealed she feared for her safety whenever she was in Texas and used armed security.

It follows the revelation that Hefe’s more recent partner claims she was viciously assaulted by the music producer, with whom she has a child.

Save By The Bell Lark Voorhies Interview With Gang Affiliated Husband Causing Legal Battle With Her Mother!

Washington Post:

Lark Voorhies, the actress best known for playing Lisa Turtle on “Saved by the Bell,” gave an erratic, rambling interview to “Entertainment Tonight” Wednesday to dispel claims that her husband is “taking advantage” of her. In 2012, Voorhies’s mother, Tricia, told People that the actress had beendiagnosed as bipolar.

Tricia recently filed for a restraining order against her son-in-law,MUSIC PRODUCER Jimmy Green. Green said he wasn’t “aggressive” toward Tricia, but admitted to being “blunt and demanding.”

In 2012, the New York Daily News reported that Green was wanted in Tucson, Ariz., for charges of disorderly conduct and threatening to intimidate. Hedismissed the charges as a “just a misdemeanor.” Voorhies married him in asecret wedding inLAS VEGAS last April.

Voorhies, 41, denied that she’s bipolar, but told “ET” reporter Kevin Frazier that she had a SWEEP with textbook clinical depression.”

Voorhies has largely disappeared from the public eye in recent years, but many began to wonder about her when she was photographed on an Indie Rights Movies red carpet in 2014 for the premiere of “Where We Stand” sporting makeup that seemed to show a noticeably bad highlighting job.

It triggered alarm bells not just because it was so jarring, but because if there’s anyone who has access to professionalMAKEUP ARTISTS, it’s celebrities.

Here’s how People described Voorhies after a series of interviews with the star in 2012:

Voorhies’s once-sparkling brown eyes are disturbingly vacant, and sometimes well with tears. During a PEOPLE photo shoot she keeps up a near-constant dialogue — by turns mournful, frenetic and angry — with unseen figures, and struggles to focus for even brief moments. It’s a face she has never revealed to the public, although her erratic behavior in recent years — coupled with a retreat from the spotlight — has sparked rumors that she is struggling with drug use.

When Jimmy Fallon hosted a “Saved by the Bell” reunion in February, Voorhies wasn’t the only leading cast member who was missing. Dustin Diamond, who played Screech, was arrested in December 2014 for stabbing a man with in a Wisconsin bar with a switchblade. He was found guilty and last month was sentenced to four months in jail.

Model Nykhor Paul says “White Makeup Artist and Racist Fashion Industry Ignores Black Beauty”h

South Sudanese model Nykhor Paul has taken to social media to rant about unprepared make-up artists at top fashion shows who fail to accommodate for the needs of those with darker skin tones.

In an enraged Instagram post, the 25-year-old activist blasted the fashion industry for considering the needs of ‘white girls’ but ignoring others, forcing her to carry around her own products.

It is not the first time the 5ft 11in African beauty has spoken out about the inequality she has faced, having previously said that we ‘need more models of color in the fashion world’

Campaigner Nykhor, who has modelled for the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Rick Owens and Louis Vuitton, addressed her open letter, ‘Dear white people in the fashion world!’ and posted it alongside a black and white image of herself in a grey vest top.

She then went on a tirade about lazy beauty artists, telling them to ‘get your s*** right’ when it comes to non-caucasian complexions.

In her powerful message, which has so far attracted more than 3,300 likes, Nykhor goes on to list an array of brands which cater for darker skin tones, including Mac, Bobbi Brown and Lancome.

The New York-based stunner is clearly angry as she goes on to say that ‘goodMAKEUP ARTISTS would come’ prepared and do their ‘research’ before attending a show.

She said the problem occurs at each of the world’s major fashion weeks, name-checking New York, London, Milan, Paris and Cape Town.

Clearly exasperated with the treatment she has faced, Nykhor added that she’s ‘tired of complaining’ and ‘super tired’ of apologising for her blackness.

She finishes off the provocative statement by saying, ‘fashion is art, art is never racist’ and then poses the question, ‘Why can’t we be part of fashion fully and equally?’.

Fans rushed to applaud Nykhor for her outburst, writing underneath the Instagram message: ‘That’s GROSS that you have to bring your own make up, go off mama!!!’ and ‘THISSSS IS THE BEST THING IVE READ IN A LONG TIME’.

While another supporter added, ‘Long overdue! Couldn’t agree more or have said it better, this should not be a 2015 struggle for people who deem themselves professionals! Immaculately said.’

Nykhor emigrated to the America in 1998, with help from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the agency that helps procure safety for refugees and victims of war-torn countries.

She set up life in Houston, Texas, but sadly she had to leave her mother and father behind.
